Wild, enjoyable, affordable, excellent, insane, amazing! One can easily run out of adjectives in describing this event! Unquestionably the greatest event L’école has ever had in my presence.

It was a hard work of 2 months which led to the A-level students of Lecole being able to organise the Sham-e-Sufiyana – a Qawali night for all ages. This was a challenge artfully tackled by the Event Society. With the help from the school staff, the students were able to put together a grand event which had the Sabri Brothers up in front to perform the classical Qawali hits.

The ambiance of the event was elegant and went hand in hand with the amazing atmosphere created by the crowd once the performance started. People were going ham – from showering cash every time the Sabri Brothers hit the punch lines to dancing to songs from start to end, the young adults created a very enjoyable environment for the audience. Even the parents and faculty joined the students to clap in rhythm with the melodies sang by the Sabri Brothers to intensify the mood of the evening. And I have never seen children as young as 10 years old enjoying Qawali. You could hear the crowd singing the songs in sync with the Sabri Brothers. One undergrad student accidentally tossed his phone while showering the cash on the Qawalist. That’s how insane the event was.

The thrilling event climaxed as the night gained and after an exciting two hours, dinner was served. The mouth-watering biryani with Barbecue chicken and other items further added to the excitement and was thoroughly appreciated by the audience. The light breeze made the Quetta Chai alongside the assorted pans that were served after dinner more enjoyable; after which our guests departed with smiles and compliments.

Honestly, the Event Society, never in a million years, would have thought about pulling this off. We oversold the tickets and had the most lively crowd L’école has ever seen. All credits to our A level students who put their blood, sweat and tears into this (They actually did!). And of course, the school staff without their help, none of this would have been possible.
