A Student-Led Conference (SLC) is a meeting where students lead a discussion about their learning with their parent. The purpose of the SLC is for students to take ownership of their learning and discuss paths forward with their guardian.

It is important that students attend the conference with their parents, as students will use the SLC to educate parents about the progress they are making, the areas they need support in and how to learn best in school. Teachers assist with preparing students for the conference, but on conference day, the student acts independently.

SLC has replaced the PTM (Parent-Teacher Meeting) and the results have been profound. Learners take great pride in their work and equally admit their areas of improvement.
